Socially Innovative Events

In 2016 and 2017, we hosted 2 editions of Hairat, an inter-school competition that aims to spread awareness about social issues through performing arts. In 2017, we hosted India's first NGO-Case Competition

Hairat : A Social Innovation Conference

Hairat is an idea conceptualized and executed by the Community Code team. In 2016, Ha!rat 2016 was a inter-school level competition which gave students an opportunity to portray any social cause through a act which could be of any of the performing arts from music to drama. With over 300 attendees, 3 celebrity judges and a flurry of outstanding performances, Ha!rat 2016 was a first-of its kind competition to create awareness and enthusiasm for social change amongst the youth and it was indeed a massive success.

Hairat 2017 : Main Day and Case Conference

Fresh-off the success from Hairat 2016, Hairat 2017 was on the cards. In 2017, keeping the tradition of the Main Day, the inter-school competition for performing arts, the Hairat Organizing team was back with a bigger event. With featured performances from Simar Singh, Founder of UnErase Poetry and a former Vice-Chairperson of Hairat, and famous youth-singer Aarya Gadkari, the stage for Ha!rat 2017 was graced with a higher quality of performances and a great panel of judges with Dhoom director, Sanjay Gadhvi and renowned writer and public activist Harnidh Kaur.

In addition, Community Code hosted India's first NGO Case Conference in Mumbai in which it featured 8 of its NGO partners and presented the participants with cases highlighting the problems faced by the NGO's. The participants were given 3 hours to come up with a workable-plan for the NGO's and present it to the NGO representatives present at the event. With over 100 applicants in its first edition, Ha!rat 2017 was met with great applause not only for its unique concept, but for its flawless organization and delegate experience.
